Talking about math

Math is a very fun thing to talk about. I know how to measure the area of a circle. It is pi * r^2. You get pi by taking a cylinder and measuring the diameter and the circumference of the circle on the bottom. You divide the circumference by the diameter, and if your measurements are accurate, you should get pi. Pi is a very cool number. I'll show you the digits I know: 3.141592653589793.

There's a another special number called phi. The ways to get it are, there's a special series and it goes: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, ... and so on. It is the Fibonacci series. As you see, the way to get the next number is to add the two numbers before it together. To get phi, you take a bigger number and divide it by the smaller number. As you go higher and higher, it gets closer to phi. Here are the digits I know of phi: 1.6180.... Another name for phi is the Golden Ratio. There's a special rectangle that you can get with phi and it is called the perfect rectangle. The perfect rectangle's sides, if you divide the bigger number by the smaller number, you get phi.



This is a perfect rectangle.
